Responsibilities



We are looking for an Intern (6-month) in our Paris office to provide analytical, statistical, administrative and research assistance to analysts in the Financial Institution Group. Start date: September 2010. The intern will work closely with analysts. Tasks can broadly be defined as below; * Support analysts in the rating process, including drafting, preparing ratio analysis, preparing spreadsheets, comparative statistics, graphs, tables, and working on special projects as needed * Review financial statements * Review bond and loan documentation * Support system and special project research writing * Preparation of outreach presentational material relating to banks and/or systems * Attend analytical meetings and assist with meeting preparation and follow-up * Ensure administrative tasks are done

Experience



* Understanding of financial statements * Financial/statistical research capabilities * Strong analytical skills * Well developed IT skills including advance Excel and PowerPoint * Proven analytical skills, will be an advantage * Knowledge of financial institutions credit analysis experience or related experience, will be an advantage * International work or study experience an advantage

Qualifications



* Strong academic background with MSc (or equivalent) in International Finance Mathematics or any financial related degree. * Relevant professional qualification (eg CFA and or CIMA/ACCA) will be an advantage.

* Hard worker and highly motivated * Sound judgment * Able to work to tight deadlines and manage own workflow/priorities accordingly * Demonstrable research/analysis skills * Able to work using own initiative * Team spirit * Good communication skills - able to communicate clearly and succinctly, both verbally and in writing. * Fluency in English and French essential; additional languages are an advantage
